My Dry Herb Vaporizer Testing Experience
In 2014 I bought 5 different vaporizers trying to find one that didn’t suck. I documented my journey on Reddit so others wouldn’t waste their money.
The next year I bought 8 of the most expensive dry herb vaporizers out at the time and started comparing them. I started buying every new vaporizer as they came out, until eventually vape companies started sending me their vapes to review.
My early vape videos served as dry herb vaporizer education for community and Chinese vape engineers alike. Several companies have even paid me to privately review their vaporizers and help them improve. Storz & Bickel flew me to Germany to privately test the new Venty vaporizer a year before it was released.
In 2026 I enhanced my Best Portable Vaporizers list with a new ranking system with 10 categories and added efficiency testing to my reviews.
Desktop vaporizers have gained popularity in recent years thanks to advancements in vape technology. My reviews have compared every classic desktop vaporizer and helped usher in more modern tech. Ball vapes were not my invention, but I evangelized the tech more than anyone and came up with the name.
My journey began as a medicinal cannabis user looking to customize my high without the stink of smoke. I started reviewing dry herb vapes on the reddit r/vaporents community. As the market developed, I noticed a trend of paid reviewers and influencers promoting low quality vapes. This inspired me to take my reviews to the next level and start 420vapezone.
When I started reviewing dry herb vaporizers in 2014 my goals were small and hobby-minded. I found myself passionately obsessed with dry herb vaporizers and all things cannabis. I developed a strong sense of desire to try all of the vaporizers and develop a deep understanding of herb vapes.
Focused on Dry Herb Vaporizers
I’m passionate about cannabis and I continue exploring all tangents of this wonderful plant. I’ve spent a few years growing cannabis at home and even making bubble hash. I’ve learned that I’m not as good at growing as I want to be, so I’m sticking to my roots and focusing on consumption for now.
Dry Herb Vaporizers are my first passion and this market has been evolving thanks to my help. I’ve been offering free-feedback and paid-consulting to vape makers since 2017. My feedback has directly affected the evolution of ball vapes and their history. I continue to live my life for the vape community and evolution of vaporizers.
I wake up and live each day focused on creating helpful cannabis content and improving the ever-evolving market of devices.
How it all Started
My journey began in 1999 when my boss at my first real job discovered my obsession with bowling balls. He broke down the math on how much I was spending on bowling balls and encouraged monetizing my hobby to help offset the money I was spending. This was an incredibly important lesson for me, because I love spending money on my hobbies.
Quitting my Job: Hobby to Full-Time Creator
After a few short years of reviewing dry herb vaporizers as a hobby, it started to pull 100% of my attention and focus.
I was no longer happy with my day job or my career and I was ready for a change.
In 2017 I quit my full-time job to focus on 420vapezone. My YouTube channel had accumulated a million views and 13,000 subscribers at that time. My channel was growing at over 1000 new subscribers per month and things were looking promising.
420Vapezone Deleted from Youtube
Shortly after quitting my job to be a full-time creator, Youtube deleted my channel.
I refused to back down. My content was having a positive impact and interest in vaporizers was growing.
After a short, 6-month depression, I doubled down on my efforts and became even more committed to serving the dry herb vaporizer community. I focused on reviewing every single dry herb vaporizer I could get my hands on.
YouTube deleted me again in 2020, this time right before Christmas.
This time I didn’t handle it as well. I felt rejected by a platform that I loved and alienated by the same system that was supporting me. I still feel hurt and discontent towards youtube.
2020 – 2023 were focused on community building and 420vapezone website development. My original visions for 420vapezone.com had put off to focus on videos, but moving forward my efforts will be Website First.
My efforts are focused on my own website. Videos will appear here first.
Current and Future of 420vapezone
My collection of vape reviews will forever be in development.
There’s a continuous flow of new vaporizers arriving in my mailbox, and I’m always updating my reviews as I continue to test.
I still love making videos. And I don’t plan to stop. I’ve added a TV section to the site where I’ll post unfiltered videos.
I’m still pursuing and creating content for the 3rd 420vapezone youtube channel; however, due to their restrictions I need to change it up a bit.
Hardcore cannabis content will be exclusive to 420vapezone.com – website videos will show nugs and clouds, youtube will be censored, filtered, and made more family friendly.
