Airvape Legacy Pro 2 – 2025 Updates

The newest Airvape Legacy Pro is back, featuring even more impressive features and promising performance.

The 2025 or V2.5 version of the Legacy Pro retains the same great heater and vapor performance as the previous version, while also promising to alleviate complaints of difficult cleaning.

The $269 ALP2 boasts powerful convection heating, on-demand and session modes, gold-plated bowl screens, wireless charging, and a removable battery.

2025 V2 Updates

The Airvape Legacy Pro OG was a great vape, but it had a few pain points. The V2 features several enhancements specifically designed to address areas where the previous vape fell short.

Airvape Legacy Pro V2 (2025) with vaporized dry herb and a dirty screen

V2 Updates:

  • Magnetic Screen – The tiny screen and silicone gasket in the previous version were a major pain.
  • Redesigned vapor path with Q-tip-ability in mind
  • Redesigned mouthpiece
  • Silicone access point for thoroughly cleaning the vapor path

Airvape Legacy Pro Features:

  • Session or On-Demand Mode
  • Gold Plated Bowl & Screens
  • Wireless Charging
  • Full convection vapor

Easier to Clean

The previous iteration of the Airvape Legacy Pro was plagued by tedious maintenance routines and screens that were difficult to set.

Airvape’s 2025 Legacy Pro brings a never-before-seen magnetic screen. The screen is now twice the size and no longer held in place with a finicky silicone seal. The new design allows the screen to snap into place perfectly.

the screen is held in place by a magnet and the vapor path is cleanable with a Q-tip

The screen is easier to clean, and the vape should be a breeze to maintain and reassemble now. The magnetic screen design is very clever. I’ve never experienced a screen this easy to take out and replace. Airvape deserves a high-five for this screen design.

The glass airpath and other components are the same, or too similar to notice a difference.

The Airvape Legac Pro V2 has a fully cleanable vapor path

The vapor path under the screen and near the bowl is much easier to clean. It can be swabbed from above or below.

With the glass vapor path removed, it’s very easy to deep clean both ends of the vapor path. Silicone pieces seal it all together.

This type of vaporizer benefits from frequent cleaning. If you enjoy the ritual of breaking down your belongings and thoroughly cleaning them, the Airvape Legacy Pro V2 may be perfect for you!

Hinged Clamshell

I hate this aspect of the Airvape Legacy Pro design. The hinged lid requires a conscious effort and a short list of physical manipulation rules. It may be entirely personal, or perhaps simply a trigger point, but the flapping lid interface annoys me.

Its design requires additional motor movements and extra attention to orientation and gravity. Emptying the vape isn’t as simple as opening the lid and turning the device upside down. The dangling lid gets in the way of my debowler. It pinches my fingers if I mishandle it.

Overall, the clamshell interface is unenjoyable and cumbersome compared to other vapes. It’s the one thing that prevents this vape from winning my reach test. It functions perfectly as a vape, but the flap door makes me set it down.

Plenty of angry redditors will argue otherwise.

On-Demand or Session Mode

The Legacy Pro V2 has both On-Demand heatup and Session Mode. Simply press both the UP and DOWN buttons at the same time to switch the vaporizer between the two modes.

In On-Demand Mode, the vape’s heater doesn’t heat up until you press and hold the power button. Once the power button is held down, the screen displays the temperature of the heater as it heats up. It will heat up in about 7 seconds and vibrate to let you know it’s ready to inhale.

This mode can be great for sneaking hits inconspicuously.

Session Mode heats up quickly and stays heated for 3 minutes.

btw Troy, with owning the original AVP, I can give you a few pointers to get a much better vape experience. I too always hated the hinge door situation too, but also hated the top screen nub thing that’s on the other side, and always felt like it affected the seal somewhat… So what I did was take two of the new dosing capsule lids (they have these clip thingies on the side) and just matched em up accordingly and pressed them together to make this little spacer puck thing that I top the bowl with. I obviously take off that screen thing that screws onto the lid door… and the dosing capsule lid puck thing is perfect cuz it’s got indents for the screw. Anyways, other than that trick, I use mine on On-Demand and up the temp to max (464F)… You’ll be really surprised at the kind of vapor you can achieve. Anyways, figured I’d share with ya some tricks I used to use with my og… Maybe it’ll make reviewing it a tad better. Regardless, on point review – appreciate the honesty as always. Doesn’t look like it’s that needed really if you already have the og, and doubtful they changed anything with the heater, right? Cheers fellow Fogger ‍️

I had the Airvape X for about four years. It worked, but I never was very happy with it because I didn’t think I was getting good vapor.

I recently switched to the Venty, and it has totally changed my life! Would be interested in seeing you compare this new Legacy Pro to the Venty.

Thanks for the good work, Troy!

The Venty is a wonderful vaporizer and still one of my favorites. I’ll add some comparisons to the bottom of this Airvape Legacy Pro V2 review after a few more weeks of testing.

Hey Troy, if you’re using the dosing capsules and if the 2 suffers the same overheating material, I found 356f to 375f to be a good temp. Also, with the dosing capsules, let the timer run down about 45 seconds before you start vaping. Way better experience in my opinion. without the dosing capsules, I would go down to about 340f maybe even 330. I’ve had ash at the bottom at 365 and green at the top without using the capsules. Just my experience. Still waiting on my v2 to come in though hopefully within the next few weeks.

Nice review, I pre ordered on April 15th and it’s suppose to arrive tomorrow 7/21. I use my avlp with the caps mainly. Also, would of loved to see the new “one path” silicone plug for easy cleaning by the mouthpiece. That’s one of the main upgrades.

U say the interface is why it’s not in your best portables list.
So… do you consider it performs better than any of the ones in your list? For me performance is maybe the most important, so, for sure, the interface wouldn’t leave it outside my favourites. It’s also true that I don’t vape weed 10 times a day tho
Anyway, I’m still waiting for it and I’m happy to see the amount of vapour u get from the first draw and your good opinion on the quality/flavour of vapour. At the moment, I only have a butane one and I miss that convention flavor I used to have with the Crafty +(battery life, lack of a screen and low maximum temperature were the reasons to get rid of i and I think I’ll be covered in all those terms with the AVLP2).

    Reply
    • Troy

tbh the ALP2 may make the best portable list… its performance is hard to ignore and the new version *is* significantly easier to clean.
I think you’ll be happy with the ALP2, it has very nice convection vapor. I don’t think it outperforms the other on-demand convection vapes, but it’s probably very close to the upper class.

I guess it’ll not be a harder hitter then the Dani Fusion 2.0 I have ATM (I love it, it hits way harder than the Crafty), but I needed something for out&about and for the presale price and with the size it has, I don’t think I could get anything better. The solo 3, the TM2, the Venty and another couple of them are maybe harder hitters, but they’re not as portable, they’re pricier and, some of them don’t give the possibility to change the battery, which I find essential after having the Crafty. I don’t want to spend more money on vaporizers ATM, so hopefully your right and I’m happy with the AVLP2

Ehhh, comparing to butane stick vapes is tough.
This will have a lot more airflow and a very different vapor profile than the Dani Fusion.
ALP2 can hit hard enough to combust, or extract it all in one or two big hits.

Currently have Pax 3, Pax Plus, Fury Edge, DaVinci IQC, and DaVinci MiqroC in the way of pocketable DHV. The Fury Edge was a little larger than I would’ve preferred.

I am looking for a newer DHV that is pocketable and similar in size to those above. Would be using on golf course, music festivals, fishing, walking the dog, etc.

I want something discreet where it doesn’t look like I’m on a Walkie-Talkie, well built/durable, USB-C, relatively easy to clean, above average battery life and a low draw resistance. Huge rips and big clouds are nice but I prioritize battery life, stealth and pocketablity much more.

Had my eye on the APL2, TM2, Pax Flow, and Firewood 10 (FATx). Never have used any of them and had a few concerns on each:

APL2: I have heard that it is “easier” to clean than the previous version (never used previous version) but is it easier or as easy to clean as other DHV I listed? Also worried about the clamshell design. Do I have to hold it shut the entire time using to get a good seal? Will it come open in my pocket or duffle bag if jostled around? Also worried the cork finish on this updated version may not be the most durable material and may damage overtime with heavy use.

TM2: Read where the device doesn’t have the best battery life and that due to weight, size and extended glass mouthpiece can be tricky to pocket as an EDC. For example, would this device comfortably fit in pocket of a pair of jeans?

Pax Flow: Main hangup here is the price. It just feels overpriced for what it is. Id be alot more interested if it were in the 200-250 range. Is there any justifiable upgrade on this device for me to buy it at its current MSRP if my Pax Plus is basically new? Do you think we will see a significant price reduction in the next 12 months?

FATx: Looks like a cool device, just wonder how durable it is since it seems more artisan and handcrafted with a body completely made of wood.. Also cant seem to find size dimensions so not certain of just how “pocketable” of a device this would be if I planned on using it on the go a lot. Feel like there could be a “learning curve” involved as well. Also heard that the heating element doesn’t completely shut off directly after powering off and can waste some flower.

Are any of my concerns justified or am I over analyzing my decision? Would you suggest any of these to me knowing what my needs are or is there something else you would suggest? Are there any new devices that are planned or projected to drop in the next 12 months that I should maybe hold out for?

That’s a tough size, tbh. Fury 3 is about the same size as the edge. I like the Rogue 2 better than both, but it’s also a bit bigger than your size preference.
I don’t think we’ll see a massive price adjustment on the Flow… it needs to be <200 to be a justifiable vape IMO.
The Frolic is my favorite protable RN, but it's bigger than the Pax Flow, too.
The Airvape Legacy Pro 2 is a good vape. You don't have to hold it shut to get a good hit and it shouldn't come open on its own. It's more of a problem when you're cleaning and unloading than it is when its closed.

Would also be cool if Pax offered discounts for those who have purchased past products and devices.

Good to hear that AVLP2’s hinged door is pretty sturdy. Makes me a less worried and concerned on that front.

I had never heard of The Frolic before today and today have heard its name come up twice. I posted the same question on the FC forums and someone there also recommended The Frolic. From what I gather it is about 4.1 inches tall and around 2.5 inches wide. Seems like it could be decently pocketable and has alot of features that are important to me. Does The Frolic often go on sale (420, Black Friday, Christmas, etc) or is the current $360 likely the best price I’m going to see?

        • Troy
