Why a Mason Jar Grinder?
We’re already storing our weed in mason jars. The Goat Grinder can grind ounces in minutes and drop them directly into a glass jar. Glass is excellent for long-term storage and see-through convenience.
The GOAT can quickly become a bulk herb grinder with an attached large-capacity jar.
Glass jars are nonporous, so they’re the perfect vessel for storing cannabis. They won’t steal terps, and they’re airtight.
My cat, Haku, loves the soft silicone sleeve that protects the glass mason jar bottom.
The GOAT Grinder has a small glass jar that easily holds 3-6 grams of ground herb. The grinder’s threads fit standard glass jars, and the GOAT could be installed onto a massive jar if that’s your thing.
I like to grind up a few grams, or whatever my daily intake goal is, and seal the top with the mason jar lid. If I need to travel, I’ll leave the grinder pieces behind and only carry the jar or a doob tube.
After Three Years of Hands-On Experience
The GOAT is a great design and very well made. Mason jar grinders aren’t for everyone, but the interface has a craft cannabis vibe. The GOAT is for connoisseurs and casual consumers alike.
I’ve used the GOAT for three years and never had to clean it. I’ve overloaded it with wet, sticky weed and even gave it moonrocks. This grinder handles everything with ease and barely gets dirty.
I finally cleaned the grinder to take close-up pictures of any potential damage to the aluminum teeth.
3pc or 4pc – Optional Kief Screen
The GOAT Grinder comes with a stainless steel kief screen. It’s a simple basket screen that inserts into the glass jar. Trichome heads that fall off during the grinding process will fall through the screen and accumulate in the glass jar. The metal basket becomes the weed vessel.
I tossed the basket and keep my kief with my kush.
Toothless Grind, Kinda
The GOAT is considered a short-tooth grinder. Unlike traditional weed grinders, which jam the nugs into long teeth and torque them until shredded, the GOAT has tiny cat-tongue-like teeth. They’re just little sharp nubs that grip and tear the nugs apart like a cheese grater as the top turns.
The GOAT Grinder’s teeth are sharp and short. It has a medium-to-fine grind consistency.
