The TrueBar 10 Ton is a rosin press made for serious home use.
It’s got 10 tons of pressure, huge 4×7 plates, and a direct-connect pressure gauge with next-level precision.
Massive power with a tiny footprint, this press has perfected a lot of the little things that matter most.
It’s more press than a casual squisher needs – if that’s even still a thing, but there’s a lot here for home growers and people who want to get serious about making rosin.
Why this Press Wins Me Over
My last two presses came with compromises. I had a 4-ton press that was manageable in size, but it didn’t have a gauge. My larger 12-ton press had a gauge, but the press was bulky and cumbersome with a separate pump and PID.
This 10-ton TrueBar press packs a higher pressure bottle-jack with a built-in gauge into a small, all-in-one unit.
It solves all the problems I had with my previous presses, and has everything I could ask for in a rosin press.
The Direct-Connect Pressure Gauge Is the Star
The rigid direct-connect pressure gauge is probably my favorite feature on the TrueBar.
A lot of hydraulic presses put a hose between the jack and the pressure gauge, if they even have a pressure gauge. The TrueBar eliminates that hose and connects the gauge directly to the hydraulic system.
Presses with hoses exaggerate pressure drops and make it harder to observe the effects of pressure on your rosin.
With the direct-connect gauge, pressure feedback is immediate and precise. I can watch the gauge while slowly increasing pressure and actually learn what different pressures are doing to my rosin.
More importantly, once I find a combination of temperature, time, and pressure that works, I can actually try to repeat it.
That’s a big deal.
10 Tons Is More Than Enough
The TrueBar uses a 10-ton hydraulic system capable of around 22,000 pounds of force.
For home rosin pressing, that’s a LOT of pressure.
Pressure is distributed evenly over the entire surface footprint of your squish. 10 tons gives you the freedom to squish large pucks without losing pressure.
Huge 4×7 Plates
The 4×7-inch heated plates give you 28 square inches of pressing area, which is considerably bigger than the plates on a lot of smaller home presses. This press has the pressure to utilize large plates, most small presses don’t have enough pressure for 4×7 plates.
Dabpress recommends the TrueBar for roughly 14–28 gram batches, so there’s plenty of room here for home growers processing their harvest.
You don’t have to press that much, though. I’ve been perfectly happy using the big plates for smaller presses too.
1,200 Watts of Heating Power
Dabpress uses four 300W heating elements — two in each plate — for 1,200 watts of total heating power.
This thing doesn’t skimp on hardware. It has high power coil and dual PID to maintain the heat.
The TrueBar’s dual PID controls and monitors upper and lower plate temperatures.
This Thing Is Built Like a Tank
The TrueBar is a legitimately heavy-duty piece of equipment.
The four-post frame is extremely rigid, and that’s important when you’re dealing with thousands of pounds of force. I don’t want to see the frame flexing or the plates moving around while I’m trying to make a controlled press.
It has a handle and I can carry it with one arm, but it’s big. It’s heavy. And it’s not something I’m going to casually move around my house.
The feet can be mounted at the base of the frame to add more stability to the feet, or mounted to the top of the frame for tipping the press onto its back.
Tipping the press allows for more leverage on the bar. It’s often referred to as “drip-tek” because rosin drips from the back of the press instead of running down the front. Catch it in a jar or on the included silicone mat.
It’s Actually Serviceable
This is an underrated feature.
Every part on this press is user serviceable. If something eventually wears out or fails, I can fix it instead of throwing it away or shipping this monster back.
For something this big and heavy, I want it to be a machine I can own for years rather than another disposable appliance.
Dabpress TrueBar 10 Ton: Final Thoughts
The this press feels like a buy-it-once rosin press. All of my previous presses made compromises – this one doesn’t.
It’s probably excessive for someone who presses a few grams occasionally, but that’s not really who this press is for.
This press is for a home grower or hash washer, regularly processing larger amounts of flower or hash.
For me, this press packs all the important features into a single footprint that’s manageable and moveable. The extra precision makes me feel more confident and consistent.
I don’t know what else I could ask for in a rosin press.
Where to Buy?
Amazon used to be the place, but rosin presses have moved to eBay.
DabPress and Rositek presses are available directly from their website as well.
