Veazy Vaporizer – Cheapest, Most Colorful, Least Flavorful S&B Vaporizer

Storz & Bickel has released the Veazy, a new portable vaporizer designed to make vaping dry herb more accessible.

The Veazy is a slimmed and simplified version of the Venty Vaporizer, which is Storz & Bickel’s top-shelf portable vaporizer and one of the best portable vaporizers available.

Veazy is an app-controlled vaporizer. The display screen and adjustment buttons have been removed. The Veazy has a single button to turn the device on and cycle through its temperatures. Specific temperature control is available within the app.

The $250 Veazy comes in four colors.

Unboxing & Demonstration of the Veazy Vape

I apologize for being late with this release. I had this vape weeks ago, before the announcements, but was unable to finish my testing due to a pre-planned family travel situation.

Vape Temps in video: The Veazy default temperature is only 356°F, which is why I was getting less vapor at the beginning of the test session. Boost mode adds 27 degrees, increasing the temperature to 385°F.

Super boost maximizes the temperature to 410°F.

Design & Build Quality

The Veazy looks and feels more toyish than other Storz & Bickel vaporizers. Its bright, colorful plastic body feels thinner and more flexible than the bodies of the Venty and Mighty vaporizers.

It feels small in the hand, like a hammer handle. It’s longer and skinnier than the Crafty+.

I don’t have any complaints about the build quality.

Veazy Vaporizer Ratings

The Veazy is still in testing. These vape ratings may change as I learn new things about the Veazy.

Vapor Quality & Potency

The Veazy is not as strong as the Venty. The Veazy has less airflow potential, a slower heatup, and less potent vapor.

The vapor is still fluffy, flavorful, and enjoyable – it’s just not as quick to extract as other vapes.

Vapor Flavor

Up until now, I haven’t found the need to include vapor flavor as a ranking factor. Potency and vapor quality covered everything needed to compare all of the top portable vaporizers… until the Veazy came along. I’ve added a column for Vapor Flavor to my portable vape rankings, and I’ll be re-scoring all the vapes on my Best Portable Vapes page to compare them on the same scale.

Click Here to see portable vaporizers Ranked by Flavor

The Veazy has less flavor and more harshness when compared to the Venty and Mighty+ vaporizers using the exact same herb at the same vaporization temperatures.

I believe the stainless steel mesh in the heater is affecting the flavor. I’m familiar with this effect from working with so many metal ball vape housings. The Veazy convection flavor is not as pure as the Venty. It reminds me of the ball vapes that used multiple screens as their heater.

To be clear, the Veazy is not a ball vape, and its flavor isn’t bad – it’s just not as good as the other Storz & Bickel devices.

Veazy Vaporizer doesn't have a screen or temp control buttons

Veazy Vape Controls & Interface

This vape uses an app to customize the preset temperatures. There is no display screen on the Veazy. It features a single button that serves as both a power switch and a temperature setting selector, allowing you to turn the device on and off, as well as cycle through its three customizable temperature settings.

Out of the box, the Veazy’s default temperature is 356°F.

Double-tapping the control button will increase the temperature by 27 degrees.

Triple-tapping the control button will increase the temperature by another 27 degrees.

Veazy Cooling Unit Changes

The Veazy vaporizer cooling unit and mouthpiece have some interesting changes from the Venty. There’s no airflow adjustment whatsoever – the Veazy is a simplified design.

The vapor path of the Veazy is extended and cooled in the cooling unit. This vape uses a clever three-piece locking system to elongate the vapor path and maximize the cooling effect.

I hope this is easier to clean than the Venty and Mighty vaporizers, but I am not optimistic.

The mouthpiece still swivels out and removes to be used as a key to unlock the cooling unit.

Veazy App Customizations

The Veazy can be customized using a Bluetooth web browser or the included USB-C cable plugged into your PC.

The app allows simple usage and customization options, as well as detailed usage information.

  • Switch F to C
  • Customize default temperature
  • Customize boost
  • Customize super boost
  • Enable / Disable Vibration
  • Enable / Disable Permanent Bluetooth
  • Enable / Disable Charge Optimization
  • Enable / Disable Charge Voltage Limit
  • Enable / Disable Permanent Boost
  • Enable / Disable Boost & Superboost Visualization
  • Adjust LED Brightness
  • Factory Reset

The app unlocks a better experience with the Veazy. Out of the box, the Veazy is a bit soft and boring, but with a few temperature tweaks, the vapor comes closer to what I’m used to.

Veazy vs Venty, Mighty+, Crafty+ Vaporizers

The Veazy is designed to be the most affordable and accessible Storz & Bickel vaporizer. Storz has a reputation for high-class, high-priced dry herb vaporizers. The “more affordable” Veazy is still $250.

My Trouble with My Veazy

My first Veazy died after two hours of testing. I managed to drain its battery beyond recovery. Storz & Bickel have told me that this is a software issue that is easily fixed, and only two of the first batch have shown this sign of failure.

It still worries me. The Venty had a rough launch, too.

I attended the Veazy release party in San Diego and returned home with a new Pink Veazy to test. It’s an adorable vape, and I enjoy carrying it. But I miss the Venty with every use.

Is the Veazy Worth it? Good First Vape?

The $250 pricetag on the Veazy makes it more approachable than the higher-priced Venty and Mighty+.

It’s still not a budget-friendly price, though, and several great vapes on my Best Portable Vapes Page are <$160.

The size and interface are superb, the vapor is good, and the colors are neat. The Veazy is better than a lot of budget vapes, but at the same time it’s not as good as vapes within its own price class.

I am a die-hard Storz & Bickel fan, and I live off commissions, but it’s tough for me to recommend the Veazy. I don’t think it’s giving enough of that sweet Storz & Bickel experience. I’m a snob, though. Very few vape reviewers have even noticed the flavor difference between the Veazy and Venty.

I think the Veazy needs a 15% price drop.

Where is the Veazy made?

All Storz & Bickel products are made in Tuttlingen, Germany. Most components are also sourced from local German sources, too! Some components come from China.

Does the Veazy have the same heater as the Venty?

NO. They look similar at a glance, but the Veazy heater utilizes stainless steel mesh material identical to that used for vaping concentrates. This is more affordable than the Venty solid metal heater.

Does the Veazy taste similar to the Volcano vaporizer?

Yes! The Volcano Classic and Volcano Hybrid vaporizers are both manufactured by Storz & Bickel. All their vaporizers have a similar extraction method and vapor signature.

Are you sponsored by Storz & Bickel?

Nope. I’ve never been paid or sponsored by Storz & Bickel. I have received vaporizers for free, and they flew me and 100 others to Germany a few years ago to tour the factory, but there is no formal sponsorship. They do not expect special treatment, and I do not give it to them. I am a fan, though!

Is the Veazy made out of Plastic?

The Veazy is made of PEEK. This Polyether ether ketone (PEEK) is an organic thermoplastic polymer. This medical-grade material can withstand high temperatures and is considered both biologically and chemically inert. It’s often used in implants, as well as high-end vaporizers.

I've been medicating with vaporizers, legally, since 2012. I started reviewing dry herb vaporizers and other cannabis products in 2015. I fell in love with creating content around vapes and cannabis vaporization. I'm passionate about the topic and the community. I love bringing people together and I love helping them understand the ins and outs of vaping weed.

Great review, as always. Thank you.
You say that there is a harshness in flavor, and you think maybe it’s due to the stainless steel mesh in the heater. In that case, maybe using the capsules will eliminate the problem?

I’m not sure if the capsule will help with the flavor difference, but I’ll certainly try it when I have a working Veazy! Mine has died after 2 hours of testing :(
