What makes Firewood Vaporizers Different?
This is a handmade dry herb vaporizer. Marc designs everything about the Firewood vaporizers, including the heater.
The body of the Firewood is made out of wood, metal, ceramic, and glass.

Marc has been pushing the limits of dry herb vaporizer tech for over a decade. His early vaporizers were innovative and ahead of the entire mainstream market.
Firewood Vaporizers had on-demand convection vapor with quick heat-up before any other big vape company, and he’s a one-man operation.
First Impressions & Build Philosophy
The look and feel of Firewood vaporizers have always been remarkable, and the Firewood 11 is no different.
This vape has a special charm to its look and feel. Lovers of wood will find the Firewood 11 charismatic and enjoyable.
The edges are sanded smooth enough. It’s not Simrell smooth, but it’s nice!

What’s New vs Previous Firewood Generations
The Firewood vaporizer changes with each new iteration. Early versions of this vape were almost pure convection. Later versions added conductive heating.
The Firewood 11 combines technologies perfected in the 9 and 10 versions of the vape with the form factor of the Firewood 7.
Firewood 11 brings back the longer shape and larger button, with a customizable stem and mouthpiece design. Like the Firewood 10, this vaporizer has a little glass window to see the roasting herb.
The Firewood 10 (FATX) had an herb storage compartment. The Firewood 11 does not.
Heater Performance & Vapor
The Firewood 11 uses on-demand heating with a hybrid conduction/convection heater.

This vape performs best with a full, tamped bowl, but it works well with light, loose packs, too.
Packing tightly improves the heater’s conduction heating while creating greater restriction to maximize convection power.
Loose packing this vape makes the vapor more convection-leaning.
Battery Life & Charging
It’s recommended that the Firewood 11 battery be charged using the vaporizer’s internal charger. The voltage requirements for the Firewood electronics are particular, and external chargers commonly overcharge batteries.
During testing, the Firewood 11 takes a couple of hours to charge fully and powers through 4 or 5 bowls.
Workflow & User Experience
If I were harshly criticizing this vape, this is the category where the Firewood loses the most points.
The vaporizer itself is hard to use, but manageable with minimal learning. You will need to read the manual, or at least portions of it. The vape has only one button, but many functions. There are sequences of clicks and vibrations you’ll need to learn to master this vape.
Three clicks turn it on and to the third temperature setting. The heater is only activated while the button is pressed, and for 5 seconds after its release.
Loading and unloading the bowl is moderate work. The long sliding panels have multiple inches of wood-on-wood travel. Tolerances are tight, and pushing these pieces in and out requires significant force.
After vaping, the glass piece and the surroundings are all very hot. Vaping 2 or 3 bowls in a row becomes a thrill-seeker’s challenge. Vaping multiple bowls in a row also makes the vape very hot to hold, and the hottest part of the vape naturally falls on the most sensitive part of my palm.
Vapor performance is excellent. The Firewood’s craftsmanship is remarkable. Its interface and usability are not this vape’s strong suit.
Is the Firewood 11 for you?
If you’re considering the Firewood 11 for your first dry herb vape, STOP. Go directly to my Best Vaporizers of 2026 page. Do not pass GO, do not collect 200.
Firewood vaporizers are made for enthusiasts and dedicated vaporists. While these vaporizers offer exceptional performance and unparalleled charm, they can’t withstand the rigorous use and abuse of daily life.
This vape is made for someone who knows vapes and has proven their commitment to the dry herb culture.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s 100% usable and carry-able – it’s just special. It’s the exceptional vape reserved for special occasions. It’s a conversation starter and a vibe creator.
I carried Firewood 4 and 5 for several months as my daily carry. They endured my heavy use, and their bodies show it. I do not doubt that the Firewood 11 will withstand daily usage.
