Bede is back with another badass ball vape. The Joystik, by VICES OZ, is a portable dry herb vaporizer shaped like a blunt.
We call them Stick Vapes, and it's a relatively new classification of vaporizers.
The Joystik is a stick vape with balls in its heater and balls in its cooling stem.
It can be heated with a torch or an induction heater. A clicking disk makes a sound when the vape is hot enough to use.
Best of all - it's only $97 aftter code VAPEZONE.

Let's take this thing apart

Each section of The JoyStik is connected via threads. The glass tube with cooling balls slides into the mid-section. The heating cap is filled with smaller balls, and the metal housing behaves like a thermal battery, radiating heat and keeping the balls hot as air passes through them.
The entire device is a blunt-sized ball vape, and while there are several stick vapes with balls, the JoyStik is cheaper than the rest, and it has cooling balls in its stem as well.
The mouthpiece has two slotted ports that can be covered and fluttered, for the fluttering type, or closed completely by sliding the silicone band down over the holes. I like mine completely closed. Fresh air mixing in ruins it for me by making the vapor more tickly and irritating.
The black silicone pieces can be completely removed and customized. We'll likely see some cool artisan options from vape accessory makers like Eds TNT soon.

Not Designed to be THE BEST - But...
Bede, the man behind this vape and all the others at VICES OZ, has a very specific mission. He wants Australia and the rest of the world to stop smoking their weed and start vaping it. The challenge has been the lack of impactful and affordable vaporizers, and Bede is tackling it by providing affordable ball vapes to Australians and anyone willing to deal with Australian shipping.
The JoyStik borrows several familiar stick vape styles and features. Let's be clear about that. It looks a lot like the Tempest 2, but several shortcuts are taken with the JoyStik to keep costs as low as possible.
The JoyStick is not as nice or as refined as the Tempest 2 or Simrell, but it seems capable of outperforming both at half the cost.

First Impressions - JoyStik Early Review
This thing rocks. I've only been using a torch to heat it so far, and it has been extremely easy to figure out. The JoyStick is designed to be mostly convection, but by heating the bowl slightly, it can add significant conduction.
The cooling balls in the stem cool the vapor nicely, and the added glass components give it a wonderful flavor.
I am worried about the tip having two o-rings. While they're easily replaceable, they may become a consumable. Aggressive heating and isopropyl soaks may shorten the lives of these o-rings. This is something I'll be watching closely as I test and review the JoyStik.
I LOVE that it comes with a little display stand and a leather cap removal tool.

More Testing Needed
I need to spend more time with the JoyStik to fully understand how it will integrate and compare, but it's easy to see that this vape is extremely capable.
The glass tube and cooling balls may even give the JoyStik a flavor advantage over other stick vapes.
