Best Dab Torches: Enhance Your Dabbing Experience
Dabs are a way of life for many and traditional dabbers swear by torch dabs over any electronic rig or coil-based dab device. Dabbing with a torch and banger hits different and delivers a more thorough expression of terpenes and cannabinoids – in laymen’s terms, Torch dabs are better.
Why the Blazer Big Shot is the Best Dab Torch
The Japanese-made Blazer Big Shot GT8000 is the #1 Best Dab Torch available. It’s an industry standard for plumbers, welders, and several other torch-wielding professionals. The Big Shot has a large butane tank that holds about 35 minutes’ worth of fuel! That’s a lot of dabs! The Piezo crystal igniter lights the Blazer Big Shot on the first click and the flame is precise and intense.
January 2024 Update: While my Blazer Big Shot leaks, I’ve been using the Zoocura as my full-time dab torch — and I hate it. The Zoocura only holds enough gas for about 3 dabs and the fill nozzle on the bottom doesn’t seem to seal with any of my butane cans or adapters. There’s also a whole new category of torchless banger heaters.
Not All Dab Torches are Created Equal
There are a lot of torches on the market, often ranging from $15 to $150 and beyond. Some torches are known and respected as the standard for dabbing, but there are several torches on the market that will work nearly as well at a fraction of the price.
Best Dab Torches
Blazer Big Shot - GT8000
This is the gold standard dab torch. It’s a high-quality, Japanese-made torch with an aggressive and accurate flame. Perfect for heating a banger!
The Big Shot is available in several colors and Limited Editions, and dabbers can customize their torch even further with heat guards, knobs, and stands.
Zoocura Amazon Blazer Big Shot Clone
The Zoocura torch is only $24 on Amazon, there’s a black version for $19. I chose the cool teal blue because it’s pretty much my favorite color and I’ve always wanted the teal blue Blazer.
The Zoocura is not quite Blazer quality. It’s similar in size, and shape to the Big Shot, but with two smaller torches instead of one singular flame. See my Zoocura Torch Review.
The Differences: Zoocura vs Blazer Big Shot
The Blazer Big Shot and Zoocura torches are the same size and shape – but the flames are very different. The Blazer Big Shot uses a larger nozzle with a more focused and intense torch flame. The Zoocura uses two smaller torch nozzles and has a softer dual flame.
Both the Big Shot and Zoocura dab torches have a similar upper interface with the gas knob and ignition button.
The Zoocura torch flame is softer and more adjustable than the Big Shot. The Zoocura flame can be dialed down low to create a softer flame and the range of adjustability on the Zoocura torch is longer.
The Blazer torch flame is less adjustable and more consistent, as well as more intense.
The Blazer igniter is significantly better than the Zoocura. There’s a distinct *ping* when ignited and feels higher quality.
The Big Shot ignites on the first try, every time. The Zoocura is reliable enough but often requires the perfect gas flow rate for ignition – which requires some fiddling.
Best Dab Torch: Blazer Big Shot vs Zoocura
The Zoocura is good enough for casual use… so far. I don’t expect it to last as long as the Big Shot, but it’s a fraction of the price.
If you dab daily, the Blazer Big Shot is the best dab torch and you should get it.
If you’re dabbing more casually or just a few times per week, the Zoocura will totally get you by. Spend your savings on a gram of hash rosin.

Other Blazer Clones & Cheaper Dab Torches
There are a few more torches similar to the Blazer Big shot. None of them are as good as the Blazer but they’re also fractions of the price! The dab torch offerings are always changing so if you see something new drop it in the comments so I can test it and add it here!
Higher Standards Blazer Big Shot - $90
The Higher Standards torch is actually made by Blazer! It should have the same quality as the standard GT8000 but in a limited edition WHITE with a triangle design.
JUN-L Big Torch - $19
This is another Blazer Big shot wannabe torch. The JUN-L is available in several colors including purple and blue. Unlike the Zoocura, the JUN-L has a larger single-flame nozzle, but it only holds 20g of fuel.
Ray Gun Torch
The Call of Duty replica Ray Gun torch makes a great backup dab torch. It works great and looks cool AF. Plus it’s less than $50 on Amazon!
Propane Dab Torch?
Your Dad’s propane torch will do in a pinch, but propane burns too hot and will cause damage to your quartz over time. Butane is better suited for dab torches than propane. Butane burns hot and clean and won’t leave any residue.
Yuge Torch - $21
The YUGE torch is just like the Zoocura, but with side-by-side torch nozzles instead of over-under.
The Yuge has a 25g tank, 10g smaller than the Blazer Big Shot.
IWATANI Torch as a Dab Torch
The IWATANI is a professional torch for the kitchen and beyond. It burns slightly hotter than the Blazer Big Shot and has a larger diameter flame. Unlike the Big Shot, the IWATANI has an adjustable flute to soften the flame – for creme brule!
Blusky Dab Torch - $20
This dab torch has a slightly different upper interface than the Blazer. This budget dab torch appears to be exactly the same as the Stache Ignyte torch, which I’ve been using as a backup dab torch for about a year.
The IWATANI uses canned butane rather than a refillable tank. The torch head has a built-in mechanism for safely dispensing butane from a can, just like a portable camp stove.
What’s nice about canned butane torches like the Iwatani is that the cans hold a ton of butane! One can of butane lasts several weeks of regular dabbing. These butane cans are available at hardware stores, Walmart, etc. I get them from the Asian grocery for $7 for a 4-pack.
You can spot the IWATANI torch in several of my old videos. If you find one, post the link below!
Hi there! I have a friend that I’d like to get a torch for but I don’t know much about them and I would prefer a good quality one that can be engraved. I would very much appreciate your advice, if any. Thank you sm!
