Honey, the Doctor has shrunk the e-rigs.
Dr. Dabber is back with another fantastic dab rig, and this one truly handheld and portable.
Switch Go looks, feels, and performs just like its bigger brother - the Switch 2 - but at half the size.
This vape quickly rose to the top of my portable dab device reach test. It hits great, tastes wonderful, and is the easiest cleaning e-rig out there. It's become my favorite electronic dab rig and a great Puffco Peak alternative.

Why I'm Excited about the Switch Go
Dr. Dabber already makes the best e-rig out there. This vape is based on the Switch 2 which came out two years ago and is my highest rated dab rig.
Switch Go delivers the same power and predictability in a much more portable size.
This device has the same badass customization features as the Switch 2! Switch Go uses a similar upgradable quartz cup to the Switch 2, and even has an optional base upgrade!
This is Dr. Dabber's answer to the more portable Puffco Peak and Puffco Proxy.
Switch Go spanks as hard as I need a portable dab device to hit, and it carries all the winning qualities of its bigger brother, the Switch 2.
What is the Dr. Dabber Switch Go?
It's a portable vaporizer designed for cannabis concentrates, or dabs. App controlled e-rigs have become even more popular than dry herb vaporizers thanks to the evolution of hash and modern concentrates.
Switch Go uses a heated, removable quartz cup instead of a clunky atomizer. There's nothing to burn out, ever.
Dr. Dabber Switch Go uses the same clean and easy-to-maintain vapor path as the Switch 2. The joystick carb cap pops off to access the quartz vaporization chamber.
It has a Power button and up/down buttons for selecting the temperature mode.

Build Quality and Design
It looks like a minified Switch 2, but there are a several significant differences.
The round button serves as the power button and the fire button. Holding it turns the vape on and off. Tapping it starts or stops the heating cycle.
The buttons are perfectly clicky and responsive, and the device vibrates when they're pressed.
Switch Go comes with a joystick bubble cap that uses magnets!
The carb cap is metal instead of glass. I disliked it at first, but I'm fine with it now. It works great and provides plenty of control.
The body of the Switch Go is hard plastic. It feels solid and durable in the hand. I can squeeze it with all of my strength and there's no give to the plastic.
I don't want to drop it, but I think it'd pass the drop test as long as it didn't land on the glass.
Vapor Quality
If you've been following me and my content you'll know that I'm a dab snob. I like big dabs and I'm usually using a full-sized rig with a terp slurper. I've been known to delay testing of dab devices because my rosin is too good to use in a mediocre dab device. I have no qualms with using high quality rosin in this device. It doesn't hit like a terp slurper, but it hits great!
The quartz bucket makes the vapor smooth and pure, and it hits good with small dabs or large.
Switch Go has a standard joystick cap. Moving it around while inhaling helps distribute the oil evenly.

How Hard Does She Hit?
The Switch Go hits harder than most e-rigs, but it doesn't hit quite as hard as the Switch 2.
The quartz cup is only 11mm wide and 20mm deep.
It can handle globs if you don't hoover it too hard.
This vape hits like an e-rig. It has a similar airflow to the Puffco Proxy and hits as hard or harder
The form factor of the Switch Go make it perfect for little puffs or longer hits.
I used the Switch Go without water for several weeks before adding water. Water helps cool the vapor and it allows me to take bigger hits on the hottest temperatures.
It was designed for cold start dabs, where the oil is loaded into the cup before heating the device, but it works well with hot starts too.
Battery Life
I need to re-do my battery test, formally.
My first few battery tests counted about 10 dabs per charge, with two heating cycles per dab. All of my initial testing has been done with default settings. I use the yellow setting, which is the 4th hottest temp.
Is 10 dabs per charge enough? In reality, yes. With USB-C charging everywhere, including battery packs, it's easy to recharge the Switch Go anywhere. It fast charges in about an hour.
I think it will handle more than 10 dabs if I stop re-firing, but I like to vape until there's no more vapor.
Portability
This is where the Switch Go wins. It's small enough to fit in my front pocket, and it stays upright so it can travel with water in it.
During my initial testing, I ran it dry, which made it even easier to toss around without having to worry about water spilling.
Dabbing on the go is easy. The magnetic carb cap stays in place during travel, but could definitely use a tether and a hot knife.

Cleaning & Maintenance
The Switch Go is easy to clean. A single q-tip takes care of routine cleaning after each dab.
Its glass bubbler pulls out easily and can be rinsed with alcohol.
The quartz cup can be torch-cleaned or soaked in alcohol.
The entire deep cleaning process takes less than 5 minutes.

Switch Go vs Switch 2
While the software is the same and the thermal performance is nearly identical, each of these vapes hit differently.
The Switch 2 hits like a traditional quartz banger.
The Switch Go hits like a mini e-rig.
Battery life and portability are the obvious differences. The hit and airflow are the hidden differences. I like the way the Switch Go hits, but I like the way the Switch 2 hits even better. With an auto spinning carb cap, the Switch 2 hits just like a traditional dab rig.
Switch 2 is a full-sized dab rig that can travel. Switch go is an e-rig made for travel.
See my Switch 2 Review if you think you might need the bigger version.
Switch Go vs Puffco Peak
This is the real head to head. The Puffco Peak Pro is the most popular e-rig out there.
Puffco uses a replaceable atomizer that may only last a few months with heavy use.
Dr. Dabber Switch Go uses a built-in heater and a replaceable quartz cup. The cups are affordable and rarely need replacement because they're just quartz.
Both e-rigs are customizable with glass options and in-app controls.
If you care more about the vapor than the culture - get a Dr. Dabber.
If you just want your vape to unlock exclusive block parties, you'll need a Puffco.
Switch Go vs Pivot & Proxy
Pivot isn't really comparable here, but it's an option for people looking to micro-dab on the go.
Pivot hits like a pen and requires too much special attention for me. It's ok if you're into little hits.
Proxy and Proxy Core are more comparable in terms of performance, but the Switch Go still wins because of its quartz cup design.
All Puffco devices use an atomizer that will eventually need to be replaced. The Dr. Dabber Switch 2 and Switch Go don't have that problem.
Who Should Buy the Switch Go?
Any one looking for a portable dab rig will love this.
Complete newcomers will find the interface natural and easy. Intermediate dabbers will love the power and customizability. Advanced dabbers will appreciate the pocket-sized portability of an advanced e-rig.
The Switch Go is an advanced dab rig with a beginner friendly interface.
There are cheaper options out there - but nothing that does what the Switch 2 does.

Current Verdict
I like the Switch Go a lot. I've been using it for about a month now and comparing it with all of the other dab rigs. The size is incredibly appealing and holding it gives me a feeling of happiness.
It delivers great dabs and the battery is enough for most of my adventures.
The quartz cup and its easy maintenance makes the Dr. Dabber Switch the winners of the e-rig race. There's no atomizers to replace, and Dr. Dabber offers upgrade options.
This is a better platform than Puffco.
I have yet to decide between the Switch 2 and Switch Go. I'm leaning towards the Go, tbh.

Switch Go FAQ
Is the Switch Go Worth It?
It's worth it if you're a connoisseur dabbing quality concentrates. This is a premium device with high quality materials. If you're dabbing shwag, save your money and get a cheaper rig.
Is the Switch Go portable enough for travel?
Easily! I'm a big boy and my front pocket is large enough to carry the Switch 2. Normal sized humans may need to use their cargo pocket, or a small case.
Does the Switch Go use atomizers?
No! There's no atomizer to replace, ever. The Switch Go uses a mesh heater to heat its replaceable quartz cup.
Is the Switch Go Induction Powered?
No. Unlike the Switch 2, the Switch Go uses traditional heating methods with a thermal sensor for accurate dabbing. Switch Go performs just like the Swtich 2.
Can the Switch Go replace a traditional dab rig?
Probably not for high tolerance users and daily dabbers, but everyone has different expectations. I'm a bit of a dab snob.
How does the Switch Go compare to the Puffco Peak?
They hit similar and they each have great software, but the Puffco uses an atomizer that will burn out when you need it most. Puffco has a great heady support, but there are heady Dr. Dabber glassblowers too. I prefer the Switch Go over the Peak Pro.
How many dabs per charge does the Switch Go get?
On the lowest setting it will heat up 25 times.
During real-world testing, I get about 10 dabs per charge, usually with two heatups per dab.

it definitely looks cool and has great features and definitely looks more appealing than the switch2 tbh, but i still have a lingering qualm that other people will hate to hear, so ill just leave it there. but for sure looks like theyre definitely refining their new designs and killin it apparently on the market… good for them for at least thinking outside the box on some things and drumming up excitement.
