President Biden Pardons ALL FEDERAL OFFENSE OF CANNABIS POSSESSION

BREAKING NEWS – President Biden has fulfilled his promise of pardoning all federal marijuana possession offenses.

“As I’ve said before, no one should be in jail just for using or possessing marijuana.

Today, I’m taking steps to end our failed approach.” – Joe Biden, Twitter

Biden made promises of marijuana reform in his campaigning 2 years ago and this is the first cannabis action he’s taken.

He’s identified 3 separate initiatives, in 3 individual tweets.

Biden Marijuana Cannabis Pardon Tweet

All “simple marijuana possession” offenses will be pardoned. The keyword “simple” likely means that cases involving multiple charges will not be pardoned. I’m not an attorney so we’ll have to follow up and see exactly what this means.

Biden Calls on State Governors for More Marijuana Pardons

Biden Pardons Cannabis - State Governor Requests

In Biden’s 2nd tweet, he calls upon the Governors of the individual states to follow course and pardon state offenses of cannabis possession.

Under Federal Law, first-time offenders for marijuana possession were slapped with a $1000 fine and 1yr in jail. 2nd and 3rd-time offenders get additional years and more than double the fines.

Because weed is still fully illegal in 4 states and mixed legality in 10 more, many Americans are incarcerated under State Law and unaffected by the Federal Pardon.

Biden: Cmon Man, Weed ain’t that bad

Biden Tweet: declassify Cannabis Schedule 1

In his 3rd tweet, President Joe Biden points out the blatant misclassification of marijuana.

Cannabis is currently classified as a Schedule 1 substance – which by definition has no medical use and a high potential for abuse.

Biden pings the Attorney General and the Secretary of DHHS to reschedule cannabis.

Is the Biden Pardon Enough?

Change takes time and cannabis has been waiting for a cool minute.

Could there be more or better action for Biden to take?

Is this genuine or is he just trying to win some votes?

I've been medicating with vaporizers, legally, since 2012. I started reviewing dry herb vaporizers and other cannabis products in 2015. I fell in love with creating content around vapes and cannabis vaporization. I'm passionate about the topic and the community. I love bringing people together and I love helping them understand the ins and outs of vaping weed.
