1st 420 Grow: Mars Hydro TS3000 in 5×5 Results & Conclusions

I’m currently finishing up vaping and squishing my first harvest and starting my second.

The results from my first grow exceeded my expectations and the quality of the buds blow my mind. I have realized that I can have a near endless supply of top-shelf cannabis at a fraction of the cost.

Mars Hydro TS-3000 LED Grow Light Review

I’m not a grow light expert, but I’m a geek who knows how to research. Dr MJ Coco is a grow light expert and he has great things to say about the TS series.

LED Grow lights have come a long way in the last couple of years. Gone are the blurple lights and their impossible-to-photograph-your-nugs red/blue hue that made them *famous*.

The latest generation of LED grow lights use quantum chips and full spectrum white LEDs.

The Mars Hydro TS-3000 has 1016 diodes and two meanwell drivers with a dimmer. According to the manufacturers specs it is ideal for 5×5 vegetative and 4×4 flowering footprints.

I used the TS-3000 in a Mars Hydro 5×5 tent and the light seemed to work great. I’m sure this tent could be lit better, and I’m sure this light would serve better in a smaller tent though.

My next grow with the Mars Hydro TS-3000 will be in a 4×4 tent.

Mars Hydro has a variety of full spectrum LED grow lights that are extremely affordable and available on AmazoMars Hydro Store Amazon.

AC Infinity Cloudline T6

AC Infinity is a high end inline fan and filter and the T6 is the 6″ version with the temp/humidity sensor and controller.

An inline fan and filter is a must for growing cannabis as it scrubs the air and keeps the neighborhood from smelling like a Cypress Hill concert.

Inline fans are also crucial for exhausting hot air and bringing in cooler fresh air. The AC Infinity has a controller that will max your fan speed when your grow tent reaches your chosen temp or humidity level.

The AC Infinity grow tent fan and filter is also one of the most quiet inline duct fans on the market.

I went with the 6″ version, but they’re available in 4″ and 8″ as well in their Amazon Store.

Autopots for Growing Cannabis

I used the Autopot system as a means of growing my marijuana hydroponically. The Autopot system is gravity fed and doesn’t utilize any electricity.

The Autopot system can be used with soil or hydroponic growing media.

I chose to go hydroponic and use Coco Coir along with General Hydrponic nutrients.

I used Mothers Earth coco because it comes pre-buffered. Other coco coir would need to be washed to PH and treated with cal-mag to pre-bind calcium into the little nooks and crannies of the coco.

Four Plants: 1lb 5g

I grew four photoperiod cannabis plants and I used mainlining and manifolding to maximize my yield.

Marijuana plants grow in a Christmas tree formation, but I topped mine when they were young and retrained it to grow more like a candelabrum. Instead of the plants having one big main cola and a bunch of smallers, the plants distribute the nug size more evenly and each of the remaining branches grow huge nugs!

One plant lost 3 main colas to bud rot, but that plant still pulled in nearly 5 ounces dry and trimmed!

I've been medicating with vaporizers, legally, since 2012. I started reviewing dry herb vaporizers and other cannabis products in 2015. I fell in love with creating content around vapes and cannabis vaporization. I'm passionate about the topic and the community. I love bringing people together and I love helping them understand the ins and outs of vaping weed.
