Tafee Bowle Series 2 Review – IT’S STELLAR

The Tafee Bowle is a high-tech weed gadget you’d expect to find at Sharper Image or in a SkyMall catalog. It’s a high-powered weed vape with advanced technology and a built-in cup. The drinking vessel makes the Tafee Bowle a multi-task device that easily blends in. It doesn’t look or perform like any other dry herb vape.

Cup or no Cup, Tafee Bowle is a Champion.

This vape heats up instantly and delivers immediate vapor! The vapor is delicious and punchy while remaining smooth and cool. The Tafee Bowle packs enough juice to vape 25 bowls on a single charge!

The Potter+ grinder makes filling and transporting easy. The Tafee Bowle is the highest-performing portable vaporizer I’ve tested and will be a contender for #1 on the Best Portable Vaporizer List. It works extremely well with dry herb and concentrates.

Tafee Bowle 2 - The Series 2 Bowle is still a vaporizer built into a cup. It comes with a plastic Potter+ and ships in a white tube.

Series 2 Upgrades

Battery Upgrade—The upgraded Series 2 Tafee Bowle has a significantly more powerful battery. It will power the vape through 20-30 bowls on a single charge, which is unprecedented for a portable vape.

The Series 2 is 3mm larger in diameter, making the Series 1 and 2 drinkware incompatible.

Vibration Alert—The Series 2 Bowle has a vibration alert that lets you know when it’s ready to vape.

Expanded Temperature Settings – The Series 2 Bowle has 5 temperature settings instead of 4, and the hottest temperature on the Series 2 is hotter than the hottest temperature on the Series 1

USB-C Charging—The new Tafee Bowle has USB-C charging instead of the smaller and slower Micro-USB. It’s not a high-powered fast charger.

Assembly Moved to Canada – Tafee has moved the Series 2 in-house! All new devices are assembled, tested, and supported by a team of friendly Canadians. The owner is dedicated to building and supporting a high-quality device that will last many years.

Tafee Bowle 2 with Potter and Potter+ and Pots

Most Powerful Portable Dry Herb Vaporizer 2024

The Tafee Bowle can deliver potent hits and fast extraction. If your lungs can handle it, it can fully extract a bowl in one or two big hits. Its battery packs enough power to plow through 25 pots on a single charge—25 is a lot of bowls on a single charge. The final (72nd) hit was as good as the first hit. The power management software on this device is remarkable. No other vape can do this.

The Tafee Bowle uses 100% convection, and its heater heats up instantly. It’s an easy-to-use vaporizer that produces wonderful vapor—cool, smooth, and potent!

This vape is $450 and is a contender for the top 3 positions on my best portable vaporizer page.
Use code VAPEZONE for a free Stubby Stem. Save 10% off the Potter with code 10POTS.

How It Works

Tafee Bowle uses these little ceramic Pots as its bowl. It comes with 8 Pots that can be swapped in and out for rapid vaping sessions or stored in the Potter to save for later.

Each Pot holds as little as .02 or as much as .25g. I typically load .1 or .15g.

Tafee Bowle 2 and Potter+ disassembled view

The Stem of the Tafee Bowl holds one Pot and serves as the vapor path and mouthpiece.

This vape uses convection heating. Hot air flows through the bowl from the top through the bottom. The Pots have a small metal screen installed as their base.

The Tafee Bowle is activated with a single press of the button. It heats within a second or two and is ready to use. The small LEDs will turn dark blue while heating and green when it’s ready.

Vapor travels through the cooling stem and is inhaled through the mouthpiece.

Five Temperature Settings

The Tafee Bowle 2 has 5 settings instead of 4, and the original 4 settings are covered in the middle 3 settings on the Series 2. The Series 2 expands the temperature settings by adding an even lower temperature first setting and an even hotter fifth setting.

The 1st and 2nd (lowest) settings are low temp and don’t even produce visible vapor.

The third and fourth temperature settings are flavorful, with plenty of visible vapor. Both settings produce cool and comfortable vapor that’s satisfying and potent. Temperature 3 is approximately 370, and Temperature 4 is closer to 400.

The Fifth and highest temperature setting is closer to 450 at its peak. This temperature is max potency and flavor. Low-temperature terpenes are quickly toasted away at the start of the hit. The 5th setting is my favorite. It’s perfect for quickly vaping bowls in two or three hits.

Why is this Vaporizer also a Cup?

Cannabis has a stereotypical image of blunts and bongs. The Tafee Bowle shatters the stereotype and becomes a drinking vessel. Everybody drinks, and no one 2nd guesses a drinking cup. Chances are you have a drinking cup within reach as you read this. The Tafee Bowle is an incognito vaporizer with an impeccable disguise.

The cup is functional and convenient for drinking. The Bowle 2 drinkware is even rated for hot beverages like coffee or tea. Filling the cup with snacks is fun. It’s the perfect potato chip holder.

The Tafee Bowle works well with or without the cup. I rarely use the cup.

Tafee Bowle Vapor Quality

The vapor from the Tafee Bowle is wonderful. It’s smooth and cool. Thanks to the food-grade ceramic Pots and anodized aluminum vapor path, there are no foul or infringing flavors.

There is very little draw restriction while inhaling through the Tafee Bowle. Vapor starts flowing as soon as you start your draw.

Low-temperature hits are bright and terpy, and high-temperature hits are full of flavor. The upper 3 temperature settings all produce thick and satisfying vapor, even with smaller hits.

Battery Life Like No Other

The Tafee Bowle has the highest endurance of any portable dry herb vaporizer. Its 5000+mah battery can easily power through 20 bowls on a single charge. I get 25 bowls per charge and have heard of others getting 30+! No other portable weed vape packs this much power.

Its last hit before dying is as powerful as the first hit on a fresh charge. Tafee Bowle’s power management software is the best in class. It charges using USB-C, and the device is programmed to utilize only 80% of its capacity for maximum battery life. It takes about 2 hours to fully charge.

Cleaning & Maintenance

There are only two components that need to be cleaned. The Pots and the Stem.

When the Pots get dirty, the screens become clogged, and airflow gets restricted. The edges of the Pots may be crusty, and flavor will be slightly diminished. The Bowle works better with a fresh, clean Pot.

Dirty Bowle Stem and Pot next to clean

Clean the Pots by giving them a quick bath in isopropyl alcohol and brushing them out. I like to place the Pot screen-side down on a paper towel and spray the inside with my alcohol spray bottle. The included brush cleans and unclogs the screen.  I like to let all the Pots get dirty and then clean them all simultaneously for maximum efficiency.

The Stem will also need to be cleaned after 50ish bowls. The Stem is more tedious to clean, but not by much. Isopropyl alcohol quickly dissolves the sticky oils and residue inside the vapor path. Q-tips work well for cleaning up the little crevices where the Pot goes.

I treat the Pots and Stems as “clean as needed,” which ends up being weekly for the Pots and every two weeks for the Stems. Cleaning both takes about 5 minutes. It’s easy and doesn’t require disassembly.

The Stems can be taken apart for a more thorough cleaning, but it’s not recommended. Extra gaskets are included. The bottom of the stem is removed with a little hex screw.

The Bowle itself shouldn’t need cleaning. If you notice herb or foreign material stuck to the screen, carefully brush it away.  Avoid poking the screen, as it may damage the vape’s sensor.

The Potter is a metal grinder and the Potter Plus is plastic.

Potter Makes Grinding & Filling Easy

Tafee includes a plastic Potter+ with every Bowle purchase. The Potter+ herb grinder fills the ceramic Pots as you grind. It fills all 4 Pots simultaneously and doesn’t make a mess. The top cap of the Potter+ will also store excess ground herb and function as a funnel.

The Aluminum Potter is a $100 upgrade. The metal version grinds better and holds 8 total Pots instead of 4. The Potter includes 4 Pots and will fill them as you grind. The upgraded Potter does not include a ground herb storage mechanism. I like to fill all 8 Pots and use the Potter to carry them around with me. The Potter fits perfectly into the cup of the Bowle for easy carry.

Potter vs Potter+

The $50 Potter+ is plastic and included with every Bowle. Potter is aluminum and costs an extra $100.

Both grinders fill 4 Pots at a time, but the metal Potter will store 8 Pots total. Both include 4 Pots.

Aluminum Potter next to the Plastic Potter+

While the Bowle oozes class and quality, plastic weed grinders don’t.

The anodized aluminum Potter is significantly nicer than the plastic version. It works better, and it feels better to use. It’s a good grinder and a great companion accessory for the Bowle. It makes grinding and filling the Pots much more efficient. The $100 upgrade for the metal Potter is 100% worth it if you plan to vape daily.

Is the Tafee Bowle Worth It?

The Series 2 Bowle is $450 USD. That’s a luxurious price. It’s the cost of two ounces of Cali’s finest and it’s more than my car payment. It’s always hard to justify the cost of high end products when there are low cost alternatives.

A few things make the Tafee Bowle 2 Remarkable.

  • Best-in-class battery: 25 bowls on a single charge is more than double what other vapes can do. No other vape compares.
  • The Bowle 2 is the Easiest On-Demand Convection Vape Ever. No other vaporizer offers high-powered, instant convection with the push of a button. It is simple, powerful, consistent, and reliable.
  • Most Advanced Dry Herb Vaporizer – This vape has the best power and heat management I’ve ever seen. I’ve tested over 400 vapes – the Tafee Bowle 2 is leagues above the rest.

The Tafee Bowle 2 is a better value than other $450 vaporizers, and I think it’s absolutely worth the price.

Consider the cost of an investment into happier and healthier cannabis consumption. Daily vaporists will quickly find value in the Bowle’s performance and experience.

Casual consumers may want to consider something cheaper, which I’ll cover at the end of this review.

It’s the Tesla Cybertruck of Dry Herb Vaporizers

Everyone who has one loves it and can’t stop talking about it. They use them daily and get immense pleasure from each and every use.

There’s an internet hate parade of people who can’t stop talking about it. They hate the shape, or they hate the cup, or they think Elon is an Alien.

You won’t find an unhappy owner; you will only find opinionated non-owners.

Regardless of the cup and the truck, this vape is phenomenal, and it performs better than any other.

Comparable Dry Herb Vapes

The Tafee Bowle is at the top of its class. It’s easier to use and produces better vapor than almost every other portable dry herb vape. The Tafee Bowle battery has more usage power than any other vape I’ve tested. This vape is a serious contender.

Tafee Bowle 2 vs Venty

Bowle 2 and Venty are both $450. The Venty is a session vape that heats up in less than 10 seconds and remains on and ready for several minutes or until you’re done vaping. The Bowle is an on-demand vape that only heats up when you want to take a hit.  The Venty has the most open airflow of all portable vapes and is incredibly comfortable to use, but its vapor is not as potent as the Tafee Bowle 2.

Tafee Bowle 2 vs Storz & Bickel Venty

The Venty can vape about 12 bowls per charge, while the Tafee Bowle can vape more than double that at 25 bowls per charge. Both vapes charge via USB-C, but the Venty has fast charging and can fully charge in less than an hour. The Tafee Bowle 2 charges slower and takes about two hours to fully charge.

The Venty fits in a pocket and is easier to carry than the Bowle. If portability matters, the Venty travels better than the Bowle. The Bowle’s performance and interface make it the winner for around-the-house use. Both are great vapes, but the Bowle has better vapor and power performance. See my Venty Review to learn more.

Tafee Bowle 2 vs TinyMight 2

The TinyMight 2 and Tafee Bowle 2 are the current Kings of On-Demand vapor. These vapes don’t cook your weed until you’re ready to inhale, and they heat up at the push of a button. The Bowle heats up within a second or two and is the fastest available. The TinyMight heats in 5-10 seconds.

Tafee Bowle 2 is similar to the TinyMight 2

The Bowle uses swappable ceramic crucibles and an aluminum cooling stem, while the TinyMight uses a straight tube stem as its bowl and mouthpiece. The interface of each vape is different. The Bowle is better suited for at-home and around-the-house vaping. The TinyMight is more compact and portable. This vape will fit in a pocket and carry better than the Bowle.

The TinyMight 2 is more powerful than the Bowle 2 but also capable of combustion. You, the user, control the power and draw technique to get good vapor. The Bowle requires no tinkering or tuning; just hit the button and inhale the instant, wonderful vapor.

The Tinymight 2 is $350 and uses a replaceable 18650 battery. Check out my TinyMight 2 Review to learn more about this tiny powerhouse of a vape.

Tafee Bowle vs Arizer Solo 3

The Arizer Solo 3 is a unique and powerful vaporizer with both session and on-demand modes. It is not as quick to heat up as the Bowle and its on-demand mod functions differently. The Solo 3 on-demand mode heats up for 10-30 seconds and remains hot enough to take several hits or even finish the bowl at higher temperatures. The Bowle only powers the heater while you’re hitting it, making the Tafee Bowle’s battery last considerably longer.

Tafee Bowle 2 vs Arizer Solo 3

The Arizer Solo 3 is a very powerful vaporizer, but it’s not as consistent and reliable as the Tafee Bowle. The Solo 3 will combust if overpacked or overpowered. The Tafee Bowle has advanced thermal sensing that adjusts the heater to maintain precise vape temperatures.

The Solo 3 and Bowle 2 are both great for around-the-house vaping or casual traveling. The Solo 3 works on a bong and even includes a water pipe adapter in the box. The Tafee Bowle does not work on a bong without some DIY connections. See my Solo 3 Review for more information.

Why I reach for the Tafee Bowle 2

The Tafee Bowle fills many needs in my daily vape routine, and its workflow suits my lifestyle.

It delivers an effortless hit that is potent enough to make me feel it on the first inhale. This vape delivers precise temperature convection with remarkable consistency. The battery is powerful enough to put out 70+ perfectly consistent hits.

It’s great for quick hits as well as longer sessions. The battery can power through 20+ bowls, and the Stem and Pots interface is quick and easy to use, clean, and maintain.

I don’t use the Tafee Bowle with its cup. Ever. The top-side USB-C charging is convenient for casual charging in-between usage, although it cannot be used while charging.

The Tafee Bowle is very easy to share and reliable enough to deliver impressive vapor easily. There is no learning curve or special technique. Just hit the button and GO when you see green!

The Potter makes loading the bowls (Pots) an easy and fun routine, and I regularly have 8 or 12 Pots in action. The Pots and the Stems are also easy to clean. This vape is easy, powerful, and delicious.

Where to Buy

I recommend purchasing the Bowle 2 directly from Tafee. They’re committed to providing the highest quality experience throughout your entire relationship. They’ve moved all the assembly and operations in-house to their new Canadian location.

Original Tafee Bowle Series 1 Review

Tafee Bowle – Best-In-Class On-Demand Vaporizer

Compared to other dry herb vaporizers, the Bowle performs at the top of its class.

The Bowle is an On-Demand vaporizer, meaning it heats up and delivers vapor at the push of a button. While most vapes heat up the material for 5-10 minutes and require many hits to fully consume, On-Demand vaporizers can heat and deliver a satisfying hit before the other vapes are even warmed up.

Most On-Demand vaporizers come with baggage. Some are very much capable, but carry with them several *gotcha* points that limit the vape’s potential audience.

While other on-demand vapes require special inhalation techniques, special packing techniques, and special maintenance routines – the Bowle performs regardless of hoop-jumping and discipline.

I’m a vape slacker and the Bowle passes my vape abuse test.

    Great review!
I love a new feature in Series 2 which you didn’t mention:

One tap to start, One tap to stop heater. Allows cleanup draw at end. I find holding a button down continuously a drag with poor hand coordination and tremors

knowing only one person that used the OG tafee, i am sure he will love all the improvements.
“this vape is phenomenal, and it performs better than any other.” is quite the statement, and i will take you word on that, as regardless of how good it is as a vape device, i really do not like the form factor. do i want something to drink while i vape, sure, do i want the drink attached to my vape device…not so much

Purely a combination of vapor and abilities :)
It’s not the hardest hitter – but no other vape can vape 25 bowls on a single charge.
And no other vape can deliver such potent vapor with instant push button ease.
I totally get you on the cup thing though.

Nice review! The website is looking great! Love the Bowle 1 and I’m excited to try the new one. That battery life is crazy! I appreciate that you measured the number of draws to kill a battery since the number of draws per bowl will vary from person to person. I tend to temp step because the Bowle makes it so easy to do that.

Thanks Brian! The battery test was really insightful, especially after two or three completions. It’s always about 70 hits for me, sometimes 69, sometimes 75.

I really hated this thing when the original version was reviewed. Seems like a silly combination of two things that don’t need to be combined. It wasn’t until your video review of the new device that I realized that you don’t have to use the cup at all. It is completely optional. Looking at this thing as a stand alone vape (without the cup) has given me a new perspective and I don’t irrationally hate this thing any more. While I likely won’t drop $450+ to try it (my TM2 is perfect for my use cases), I wouldn’t turn down the chance to try it if I have the opportunity. Bottom line, it is pretty cool that folks are still innovating in the vape space. Also, I am sure that there are people out there that will appreciate the cup and use it.
