I can’t remember the last time a portable vaporizer has taken my full attention like this. Nothing in recent years has pulled me away from ball vapes – but the Fuji has kept my ball vapes unplugged for more than two weeks now.
It’s become my most used and favorite dry herb vaporizer. I’m excited to share it with people.

This simple little vaporizer has a lot to offer. It’s the first portable vaporizer that has satisfied my needs enough to turn off my powerful desktop ball vape. The Fuji doesn’t hit as hard as a ball vape, but it’s close – and the instant on / always off interface makes reaching for it more appealing than a hot ball vape always on nearby.
The Fuji is ready as soon as you hit the button and its full convection vapor is very flavorful thanks to its glass vapor path.
The battery life is remarkable. In 12 days of heavy use I’ve only had to charge it twice. The Fuji has two powerful 18650 batteries inside and the ceramic heater is extremely efficient.

What is the Camouflet Fuji?
Fuji uses hot air to vaporize dry herb. Cannabis Flower. WEED. It works with dabs, too, but it’s a dry herb vape.
It has 5 temperature modes. I float between 3, 4, and 5. The Fuji can hit hard – extracting most of its bowl in a single hit if you’re capable of taking longer hits. Most people seem to take 2 or 3 hits per bowl.
Fuji is instant on and instant heating. Just hold the button when you’re ready to inhale – no waiting.
How it Works
Fuji uses these clever little basket screens as bowls. Each bowl has a smaller basket screen lid. The ground herb or whole nug cannabis goes inside.
Slip the filled basket screen into the hole of the glass nipple and place either of the glass mouthpieces onto the joint.
Hold the button while inhaling. Slow at first and speeding it up once vapor kicks in.

Build Quality & Design
The Fuji is an interesting device – it’s built inside a piece of bamboo! This natural wood-like material is fast-growing alternative to “tree wood” because it’s strong, durable, and eco-friendly.
Photos don’t do it justice. I thought it looked fugly until I held it in my hands.
It feels solid and relatively high quality. The shape works well as a hand-held vape and looks surprisingly inconspicuous in public.
The bottom plate can be removed and its two 18650 batteries can be replaced without any engineering degree. The single-button interface is extremely simple, which matches the glass and bamboo material signature perfectly.
Vapor Performance
Fuji heats instantly and produces vapor best with longer hits. Users who prefer taking short hits will need to puff on this one a few times to get the vapor started.
The airflow feels open and comfortable. Using a slower draw at the start of the hit will speed up the extraction and produce thicker vapor. I like to inhale slow while watching the vapor through the glass. Once the vapor is thick enough to milk the glass I inhale faster to finish the hit.
The Fuji bowl holds 0.16-0.25g and finishes it in 2-5 hits.
Vapor Quality: Punch Flavor Volume Smoothness Scoring
The Fuji has a great flavor thanks to its glass vapor path and convection heating.
In my first few sessions I could taste some off flavors from the basket screens, but after two or three uses the flavor is clean and pure. The Fuji vapor leaves my mouth coated and stained with flavor. Temperature 3 and 4 are so terpy that the vapor will bring tears to my eyes on big hits.

Ease of use
The simplicity of the Fuji is why I reach for it.
The bowls are easy to fill. The vaporizer itself is extremely simple to load and operate.
Removing the glass top and replacing the spent bowl with a fresh one is quick and easy. Camouflet includes 5 of the bowl assemblies, which means you can have 4 of them packed and ready to go.
The vape only has one button. There’s no off or on – just hold the button when you want to vape. It couldn’t be simpler.
The Fuji’s glass mouthpiece and bubbler fit onto the vape using a standard 18mm glass joint – which means you can replace it with an infinite number of custom options.. The vape can be inverted and used directly on a bowl, or with a whip, or with any number of 18mm glass attachments.
Maintenance is easy, too
The basket screens are very easy to maintain. When vaped thoroughly, the herb is dry and falls out of the bowl easily – especially if its still warm. I usually use a debowler with a built in poker tool. Emptying the Fuji baskets only takes a few seconds.
After a few dozen bowls, the screens can be cleaned with a brush and some isopropyl alcohol. Soaking the screens is also an option. Cleaning all 5 of the screens can be done in 5 minutes or less.
The glass bubbler and dry top mouthpieces are also cleaned with alcohol and hot water – no brushes required. The bubbler is harder to clean than the dry top. The dry top is very easy to clean.
I’ve cleaned the inside of the Fuji’s glass injector two or three times with a damp Q-tip or an alcohol prep pad. It wasn’t very dirty, but there was a bit of residue.
What I like
- Extremely good vapor. Fuji scored very high in Flavor, Punch, Volume, and Smoothness.
- Instant Vapor. It’s just ready to go at the push of a button.
- Simple Interface. Everything about it feels minimalist and natural.
- Easy to use, easy to clean. This vape doesn’t make me think. Ever.
- Replaceable Batteries. There are 2 batteries behind 4 screws.
- Customizable. The 18mm glass top makes my hydro-tubes usable again.

This vape was 700 when it launched. It outperforms most portables and any traditional desktop vaporizer.
What I don’t like
The USB-C charging port is tight. None of my usb-c cables fit my Fuji, except for the one they’ve included. I’ve been told that it’s a standard Apple usb-c cable, but I have not been able to confirm. The cable that came with my Fuji has become cherished, although only needed once every 3 or 4 days.
Stainless Steel Mesh Screens – as clever and convenient as they are, I’d much prefer to have a 100% all-glass vapor path. The steel mesh basket screens gave off a tiny hint of metallic flavor on their first few uses. I still consider the Fuji vaporizer to be one of the most flavorful portable vapes out there, even with these metal mesh screens. Perhaps there are even more flavorful upgrades in the Fuji’s future
Fuji vs. Other Dry Herb Vaporizers
This is a unique vape that’s hard to compare to other herb vaporizers. It’s a portable vaporizer, but it’s not pocketable.
Other around-the-house portable vaporizers include the Arizer Solo 3 and Tafee Bowle 2.
Fuji is $90 more than the Arizer Solo 3 and worthy of the price difference. Solo 3 is a marvelous portable microdoser with an all glass bowl and vapor path, but the restriction is tight. If you prefer mouth to lung type hits, the Solo 3 will be better for you – but if you like taking long inhales with massive fluffy vapor clouds the Fuji is the way. The Solo 3 might win on a bong or in a pocket, but both of those are subjective.
Tafee Bowle 2 has similar instant heating and it uses little ceramic pots instead of the metal mesh capsules. The Bowle 2 has a smaller dosage size. It’s little ceramic pots can only hold .05-.12g of herb. The Fuji capsule needs .12-.22g. The Bowle is also a limited form factor, locked into its own stem and mouthpiece. The Fuji is much more flexible. It’s 18mm output will adapt natively to many bongs and hydrotube style bubblers. It can also be used with a whip or dry top mouthpiece. Fuji is also more affordable than the Bowle 2.
I actually reach for the Fuji. The Bowle 2 and Flaske are too small of a dose for me. They’re novelty vapes.
Who is the Fuji for?
I feel confident recommending the Fuji to all levels of cannabis consumer. It’s easy and potent enough for any casual smoker. It’s pure and powerful enough for dedicated and exclusive dry herb vape users – like me.
This vape is good for practically anyone, as long as they don’t need to carry the vape in their pocket.
The simple design lets the Fuji blend into the modern home. This vape is great for vaping herb anywhere in the house, or even on the go. The Fuji is easy to share, too.

Is there a particular reason that you fail to mention the Frolic which heats as quickly and gives monster hits as a comparison?
i plan to compare the frolic separately, along with TM2 and Bowle.
